TAEF

Phongkorn Chorkprasertnam is currently a Visiting Scholar at the Taiwan-Asia Exchange Foundation (TAEF), with a focus on Area Studies and Taiwan–Southeast Asia relations. He holds a master’s degree from the International Master’s Program in Asia-Pacific Studies (IMAS) at National Chengchi University (NCCU), supported by a scholarship from Taiwan’s Ministry of Education (MOE). He earned a bachelor’s degree in Chinese Studies with First-Class Honours from Thammasat University, Thailand, and also studied as an exchange student at Peking University and Shandong University in China. Prior to joining TAEF, Phongkorn served as a Political Division Assistant at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Thailand (TECO), where he gained practical experience in political affairs and Taiwan–Thailand relations. He has also presented his research at the East-West Center in Hawai‘i, with support from Taiwan’s National Science and Technology Council (NSTC). His research interests include Southeast Asia, Taiwan, Cross-Strait relations, democracy and human rights, border politics, nationalism, statelessness, and ethnic minority protection. Trilingual in Thai, English, and Mandarin Chinese, he is particularly interested in strengthening Taiwan–Southeast Asia relations through policy research, civil society engagement, and people-centred regional cooperation.
