The Yushan Forum
Launched in 2017, the Yushan Forum serves as a platform for regional dialogue for Asia, highlighting the achievements of cross-sectoral Public-Private-People Partnerships in advancing the New Southbound Policy (NSP) between Taiwan and its neighboring countries.
The Yushan Forum seeks to broaden opportunities for collaboration and foster the exchange of ideas, talent, technology, and social initiatives. Between 2017 and 2023, the forum hosted 280 speakers and young leaders from Taiwan and 28 other countries, along with 200 ambassadors and representatives, drawing over 3,600 participants from all over the world.
Yushan – also known as Mount Jade or “Tongku Saveq” in the language of the local indigenous Bunun people – is the tallest summit in East Asia. With relative ease of access to the top, Yushan is a symbol of Taiwanese aspirations for excellence, as well as warm friendships with people from surrounding nations.

The Biannual NSP+ Think Tank Summit
In 2025, TAEF launched the NSP+ Think Tank Summit: : “Prospects for a Resilient Indo-Pacific Policy”. This landmark gathering marked the launch of a new regional platform designed to deepen collaboration among leading think tanks and policy institutes from across the Indo-Pacific and beyond. Having built a strong network of bilateral partnerships in recent years, TAEF established the regional forum that will convene biennially, bringing together leading minds under one roof to exchange insights and identify concrete avenues for cooperation.
The 2025 inaugural edition of the summit brought together a diverse group of participants representing the Indo-Pacific’s leading minds in policy research and regional cooperation. In total, the event featured 26 external speakers and moderators from 11 countries, including experts from prominent think tanks, academic institutions, and policy organizations, and around 100 attendees.
The 2025 Summit explored four interconnected themes—strengthening democratic resilience, addressing complex security challenges, building trusted and sustainable supply chains, and advancing warm power to foster friendship and reciprocity among neighbouring countries. Together, these themes reflect the pillars of a resilient Indo-Pacific and underscore Taiwan’s central role in shaping the region’s future. In addition to the plenary and thematic sessions and a closing roundtable synthesizing key insights, the Summit also featured two MoU signings and the launch of two policy reports, fostering dialogue, partnerships, and actionable strategies among regional leaders and experts.
