The Taiwan-Asia Exchange Foundation (TAEF), in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will host its inaugural Think Tank Summit, “Prospects for a Resilient Indo-Pacific Policy,” in Taipei on October 8, 2025. The Summit will bring together over 20 speakers from 11 countries and more than 100 distinguished guests, serving as a platform for influential voices to exchange perspectives and explore concrete avenues for cooperation.
Discussions will focus on the role of think tanks in enhancing security resilience in the face of complex geopolitical challenges, advancing democratic resilience as a shared Indo-Pacific value, building supply chains independent of authoritarian influence, and fostering friendship and reciprocity among regional partners. The Summit will also highlight Taiwan’s integration into Indo-Pacific strategies, featuring the release of TAEF’s latest policy report and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with two partner think tanks to further deepen regional collaboration.
At the heart of these efforts is Taiwan itself—an emerging leader in the Indo-Pacific and a beacon of democratic resilience, regional security, disaster preparedness, public health, and technological innovation. Guided by the New Southbound Policy Plus (NSP+) under President Lai Ching-te, Taiwan continues to deepen its engagement with South and Southeast Asia, positioning think tank collaboration as a key strategic corridor. At TAEF, we advance this mission by fostering dialogue and partnerships that complement government efforts.
This inaugural Summit marks a milestone in that journey. From this year forward, it will convene biennially to unite leaders and experts, working together to enhance democratic resilience, address security challenges, build sustainable supply chains, and promote warm power for the Indo-Pacific and beyond.
Further details and agenda will be announce on our website the day before the event, and we invite all stakeholders to stay engaged for updates.
